Levin Schökle

Levin Schökle, originally from Frauenfeld, relocated to Zurich in late 2019 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Zurich. During his undergraduate studies, he discovered a fascination with microscopes, which he aimed to explore further during his Master’s. In the fall of 2023, he began his Master’s thesis project in the lab of Prof. Müller, employing electron microscopy to investigate the intricacies of the neuromuscular junction in Drosophila. In April 2025, he started his doctoral studies in the laboratory, where he continues to conduct electron microscopy to investigate the nanoscale architecture of the Drosophila synapse and its implications for synaptic plasticity mechanisms.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Levin finds balance through playing tennis and taking motorcycle rides through Switzerland’s picturesque landscapes.
