Why choose sLORETA?
1. If your aim is the correct localization of human brain function, then you should choose a method that has the lowest possible localization error to test point sources.
2. If your method is a non-linear one, then there is no guarantee that your non-linear method will localize correctly an arbitrary distribution of test point sources. This means that for the case of non-linear methods, it is almost impossible to know anything about its performance in general.
3. Suppose your method is linear and distributed. If you have non-zero errors in localizing test point sources, then your method is guaranteed to fail in the localization of distributed activity. In coarser words: your method has no chance to correctly localize distributed activity.
By exclusion, sLORETA would be the method of choice.
