Franco Ferrero Award

The Award

The Italian Association of Speech Sciences established the Franco Ferrero Award (FFA) in 2006. Since then FFA is being granted to the junior authors of the best papers in two research areas:

  • Linguistics, Phonetics, Phonology
  • Speech technology

FFA consists of a check for 350 euro, plus 1-year free AISV membership and free registration for next year’s AISV conference.

Eligibility criteria

Eligible candidates are young researchers with a non-permanent position (e.g. students, PhD candidates, Post-doctoral researchers), who:

a) presented their work at the last AISV conference;

b) published the paper in the relative volume of the AISV book series “Studi AISV”.

The paper must be written solely or primarily by the young researcher.

Submission of FFA Application

Authors will notify their intention to apply for the FFA at the time of full paper submission (16 May 2021). In case of papers with multiple authors, the applicant must be the first author. A letter from the tutor or the senior author is also requested which attests the applicant’s contribution and responsibility for the intellectual work done in the paper.

We strongly encourage young researchers with a non-permanent position who are the unique or first author of the work to consider the possibility to apply when submitting the paper.
