EyeStore+

Project Description

EyeStore+ will become the first large-scale repository for eyetracking data from reading. It ensures the free availability, sustainability and reproducibility of eye movement recordings. EyeStore+, including all datasets and preprocessing methods, is entirely open source. The sustainability of the EyeStore+ repository reaches beyond the lifetime of the currently planned data collection projects (MultiplEYE, MeRID, etc.). Any lab can contribute to this gold-standard dataset and the repository will be maintained long-term. With EyeStore+, we set novel standards in eye movement research in terms of data quality and open resource data reproducibility of scientific results. While many methods of preprocessing are black-box models, the pipeline included in the proposed repository will only include transparent and reproducible preprocessing algorithms. This repository directly benefits the researchers and users of various working groups of the international MultiplEYE network. In a second step, it will benefit many other eyetracking researchers and practitioners from fields including psycholinguistics, reading research, and natural language processing more broadly.
