The lecture will take place weekly, on Wednesday from 14:00 to 15:45, Room RAI-H-041. An exam will take place at the end of the course. Further information will be given in class. You can book this class in the course catalogue MAWWÜF4 Course Nr. 1629.
The lecture will provide an overview of current issues and the legal foundations of International Economic Law. In this course, you will learn about the legal tools and basic principles of international trade law, international investment law and international monetary law. The course will also provide you with the critical tools to understand who wins and loses from economic globalization and how to design a more socially and environmentally sustainable international economic law. In this regard, we will address different fields of law such as human rights law, international labour standards, international environmental law and international anti-corruption law.
In order to foster our discussion all participants are required to read the assigned papers and prepare the exercises in advance. The reading load is 30-50 pages per week on average. All reading assignments, exercises and slides and for the lectures will be regularly posted on the following Moodle platform (password will be disclosed during the first lecture)
