You are warmly invited to the inaugural lecture of Prof. Andrea Giuffredi-Kähr:

Consumer-Brand Interactions in the Digital Economy – Challenges and Opportunities

In her inaugural lecture Andrea Giuffredi-Kähr will give a broad overview on how digitalization has changed consumer-brand interactions and how consumers contribute to shaping brand meaning. Based on her own research, she will discuss important challenges arising from consumers’ co-creation of brand meaning and the increased transparency in the digital economy. She will round off the lecture by presenting potential strategies on how to leverage consumers’ engagement as well as the enhanced transparency in dealing with those challenges.

Andrea Giuffredi-Kähr is Assistant Professor in Marketing in the Digital Economy at the Department of Business Administration at the University of Zurich. She holds a PhD and MSc in Marketing from the University of Bern. Prior to joining the University of Zurich, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Marketing Department at the University of Bern.

The inaugural lecture is public and will take place in the Aula of the University of Zurich (KOL G-201, Rämistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich) on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 17:00. No reservation is needed. Please note: In order to attend the event, a Covid certificate (vaccinated, tested or recovered) is required for admission.

Market Design

In his inaugural lecture, Marek Pycia will discuss recent advances and open questions in market design. He will focus on guiding design principles (simplicity, transparency, and flexibility) and draw on his work on educational, medical transplant, government debt, and pollution permit markets.

Marek Pycia was appointed the Professor of Organizational Economics at the University of Zurich in 2017, coming to Zurich from the University of California, Los Angeles. His research influenced the development of the US school admission and kidney transplants systems.

The inaugural lecture is public and will take place in the Aula of the University of Zurich (KOL G-201, Rämistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich) on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 18:15.
