Swiss Finance Institute (SFI): Financial support for two professorships in banking and finance

Based on the former “Banking and Finance Foundation at the University of Zurich” (ZHBS), whose sole purpose was to promote research and teaching at the University of Zurich and whose funds were transferred to SFI in 2007 through a merger by absorption, SFI also makes a contribution to the basic salaries of two professorships in the field of banking and finance at UZH, which is limited until 2028 and 2029, respectively. The financial scope of this support amounts to CHF 250,000 and CHF 285,714 per year, respectively. The University of Zurich has complete freedom in allocating these funds, provided that the criteria for SFI Senior Chairs regarding the quality of scientific research are met and one of the two professorships conducts basic research with a focus on sustainable finance.

The University of Zurich discloses the outside professional activities and interests of its professors. The activities listed include commitments in management or supervisory committees, long-term leadership and consulting engagements in bodies or foundations, and collaboration in commissions and bodies of the municipal, cantonal or federal government.
