Third-Party Funded Projects
Indicator for Academic Excellence
Third-party funds refer to grants for research and teaching. They are an important addition to the basic funding provided by the Canton of Zurich and the public sector. UZH has to acquire these funds by competing with other higher education and research institutions, which means that they are also an important indicator of the success of UZH researchers.
Disclosing the Sources of Third-Party Funds
UZH discloses the sources of its third-party funds acquired from 1 January 2018 in a transparency list, which is updated annually in the second quarter of each year. The transparency list covers third-party funds totaling more than CHF 100,000 throughout the entire length of their term.
The following are not included on the list:
- Funding for individuals and projects provided by the European Union (EU)
EU ERC Funded Projects - Funding for individuals and projects provided by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) SNSF
- Funding for projects for National Centers of Competence in Research (NCCR) of SNSF, with UZH as the leading house NCCR
- Services
- Continuing education programs
- Third-party fund transactions that are subject to confidentiality on the basis of overriding legal provisions.
