The MSc Minor in Neuroinformatics provides trans-disciplinary knowledge and skills. The main focus is on understanding the principles underlying brain function and discovering how these principles help to develop more intelligent and efficient artificial systems.
Students learn about the basics of systems neuroscience and the current understanding of how neural architectures give rise to sensory, motor, and cognitive functions. They also learn about concepts in neural computation and how theories of neural computation relate to the classical theory of computation. They can also learn theories, methods, and algorithms employed in the design of neuromorphic hardware and of systems that interact intelligently with the world.
Basic programming and on how to evaluate and understand modern neurobiological research. They can also learn about the links between biological and artificial neural networks and their applications in a large variety of domains.
